For this Refinement we visited Rannveig Revhaug and we talked about recycling (and the Car Pool app which apparently already existed). How easy and how much you can recycle often depends on where you live. Here in Norway there are several sites that inform about recycling, but none of them help you out with the practicalities.
We want a customizable, easy step by step guide that will help us integrate recycling into our daily routine. To motivate us even more to decrease our carbon footprint, we want the impact of our actions to be visualized in a gamelike experience.
There’s a site and there’s an app. The site is where you get help to set up your recycling goals, it uses your position and your needs to establish those goals. It can also help you with setting up a schedule with routes, so that delivering your recyclables become less of a hassle. When you have successfully established a routine you will receive tips on how you can integrate more measures into your life to reduce your carbon footprint even more.
To help you keep track you can use the app and register your actions. For example:

The impact of your actions are shown through visualizations on a SIM-like earth. You can choose to team up with friends to encourage each other to do better and to achieve a greater impact on “your” earth. Of course, you can share and brag about your achievements on your chosen social platform.
In short it is a service that helps you solve the HOW, WHEN & WHERE of being environmentally friendly and helps you keep track of your actions to do so.
What do you think, what would make you want to recycle more?
